DESCRIPTION:\nTHIS IS OUR LAST REGULAR MEETING OF THE 2023-2024 FISCAL YEAR.\n \nThe College Advisor of New England, Inc. is the longest operating full-time, comprehensive college counseling program in Western Massachusetts.  They have been providing personalized college admissions and financial aid counseling services since 1994. With offices in East Longmeadow, MA and Albany, NY (independent affiliate The College Advisor of New York), their network includes independent college counselors, Admissions and Financial Aid Deans, and other academic resources located throughout New England and the United States. They provide clients with a range of resources and expertise that is rarely found in one relationship. Founder, Adam Metsch, has been recognized by higher education leaders as one of the most professionally knowledgeable and effective independent college counselors in the United States.\n \nDuring this meeting, we will also be conducting a brief “annual meeting” portion (about 5 minutes) where we’ll present a state of the organization and hold elections for our board. This “business meeting” is required under our by-laws to elect a new slate of officers. Currently, our slate includes:\n John Arnold – President Lou Davis – Immediate Past President Julie Quink – Treasurer Holly Kresiak – Secretary Marianne Fresia Kylie Johnson Katie McDonough David Fedor Others TBD \nAdam Metsch – Founder of College Advisors of New England\n \nAdam will be providing an overview of the college planning process, the state of college expenses, funding, financial aid, the key decision points, and will provide tips of the trade that will inform all financial professionals in the work they do with their clients (and, potentially, for themselves!).\n \nAdam has personally coached over 1,000 students and families through the college selection and financial aid process, successfully helping them reach their goals with greater predictability and more confidence.  His students have been accepted into schools across every range of selectivity.\n \nAdam holds the title of [Certified Educational Planner](http://www.aicep.org/), distinguishing him as having the highest level of competency, commitment and ethics in our profession. He is a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), the New England Association for College Admission Counseling, and has been on the Board of Directors for the [Independent Educational Consultants Association](http://www.iecaonline.com/)[ (IECA)](http://www.iecaonline.com/), a 1000+ member, international organization comprised of the top qualified educational consultants in the profession. He has appeared and has published articles in local media such as ABC40 News, CBS3 News, and has been quoted in publications including the NY Times, Boston Globe and Career & College magazine.  \n \nAdam has conducted presentations at regional and national conferences for NEACAC and IECA and regularly speaks about college planning for parent/student organizations and employee groups.  Adam conducts continuing education workshops for Certified Public Accountants, Financial Planners and Guidance Counselors such as the CPE Forum throughout New England and New York State. \n \nAdam is a member and past Ambassador of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and has served on the Board for the Kiwanis of Springfield.  He lives in Springfield with his wife and two daughters.\n \nCOST: Paid Members $40.00  Nonmembers $45.00* \n*If your 2023-2024 dues are not paid, you are a nonmember.\n (You can still pay at the Renewals tab)\n \nRESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT FOR THE LUNCHEON MUST BE RECEIVED BY MONDAY, May 13, a.m., WITHOUT EXCEPTION.  Cancellations by May 8.\n\nSpace will not be reserved for non-respondents.\n\nNO PAYMENTS AT THE DOOR. \n
